One of the nation’s most coveted players in the transfer portal database is closing in on making his transfer decision as former Kansas Freshman All-American Karon Prunty has issued an update on his recruitment.

After recently visiting Tennessee and South Carolina, Prunty announced his plans to make his transfer commitment this coming weekend.

Prunty did not provide a specific date for his commitment but did share photos of his trips to Columbia and Knoxville along with his caption, “A decision will be made this weekend.

Prunty was a true freshman last season at Kansas and was named an All-American by 247Sports following his lone season in Lawrence. Prunty started nine games for the Jayhawks, registering 26 tackles, 10 pass breakups and an interception for Kansas.

Both South Carolina and Tennessee are in need of adding depth to their respective defensive backfields after suffering multiple transfers this offseason.

The Gamecocks managed to lure former Kansas Director of Scouting Drew Hixson to Columbia this offseason, which certainly could help South Carolina’s chances of landing the former standout Jayhawk defensive back.
