Kirk Herbstreit isn’t feeling too great about Tennessee at the moment.

Herbstreit joined Streit Talk with his sons Jake and Tye to talk about college football on Friday. Herbstreit noted the difference from a year ago and the effect it has had on the Tennessee offense.

The Vols don’t have Hendon Hooker, Jalin Hyatt, and Cedric Tillman anymore.

“For Tennessee, they’re back to drawing board. I’m concerned for Tennessee. The quarterback situation compared to where they were a year ago with Hendon Hooker. The receivers, they had Jalin Hyatt and Cedric Tillman. Bru McCoy’s good, but man they just don’t seem to have the same speed or weapons. They gotta regroup.”

Tennessee limps back into Neyland Stadium after losing to Florida 29-16 in Gainesville.

The upcoming game with UTSA could be a chance for the offense and team as a whole to regroup. The Volunteers face the Roadrunners for the first time in program history.

Perhaps some weapons could emerge before the bulk of Tennessee’s SEC schedule kicks in. Following a bye week, the next three SEC opponents are South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Alabama.

Tennessee and UTSA meet on the gridiron on Saturday. Kickoff will be at 4 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
