Kirk Herbstreit names his Offensive Player of the Year for 2022
There have been plenty of conflicts regarding who should be player of the year in the Southeastern Conference this season.
One of the most popular has ben wide receiver Jalin Hyatt of Tennessee, but his quarterback deserves just as much attention.
He named Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker as his offensive player of the year and Utah cornerback Clark Phillips as his players of the year. Hooker suffered an unfortunate injury at the end of the season with a torn ACL down the final stretch that affected him.
Hooker finished out the year with a 69.6% completion rate, 3,135 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He ended his college career with a 67% completion rate, 8,974 passing yards, 80 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
How Hooker takes his career to the pros will be something to keep an eye on.
