New No. 1? Fans think Tennessee should rise to top spot after loss by Kansas
By Adam Spencer

The Tennessee Volunteers dominated Wake Forest this weekend, while No. 1 Kansas (the only team to beat the Vols this year) fell to Arizona State, 80-76.
When the new AP Poll comes out on Monday, many expect the Vols to rise to No. 1 in the rankings, although No. 2 Duke will likely get the bump up one spot, with Tennessee rising to No. 2.
However, that didn’t stop fans and media members from taking to Twitter to express their support for the Vols, who only lost to Kansas in overtime on a neutral court and have been playing fantastic basketball ever since:
With Kansas loss – there is no doubt. Tennessee should be No. 1 in the country come Monday. Big win over Gonzaga, dominated everyone else on their schedule, and their one loss was to Kansas on a neutral when their best player fouled out. NOBODY wants to play the Vols right now

Tennessee is the best team in college basketball. Had Grant Williams not fouled out, would have beaten Kansas.

Arizona State upset Kansas! Guess that means ESPN's beloved puke screw devils will be #1 again, although Tennessee should.

Tennessee should be number one. We beat Gonzaga who beat Duke and we went into overtime with Kansas and I think we are the best team in college basketball. Let’s hope on Monday, we get put in the number one spot.

The Vols certainly have a resume worthy of the No. 1 spot. Now it’s up to the AP voters to decide if they’ll be No. 1 or No. 2 on Monday.
