No. 2 Tennessee managed to bounce back Saturday with a win over No. 25 Auburn. Points were at a premium in Thompson-Boling Arena. The Vols came away with a 46-43 home win.

After the game, ESPN shared that the game is among the lowest-scoring ever between ranked teams in the shot-clock era. The 89 combined points mark the new lowest-scoring ranked contest between SEC teams of the AP Poll Era.

Both teams struggled from the floor. Auburn shot 13-of-55 (23.6%) while UT was 17-of-63 (27%). Josiah Jordan James led the Volunteers with 15 points as the game’s highest scorer.

It was a controversial finish in Knoxville. Auburn’s Wendell Green Jr. missed a 3-point attempt in the final seconds with no foul called.

Auburn will look to bounce back at Texas A&M on Tuesday. Tennessee will look to get a new winning streak going with a victory at Vanderbilt on Wednesday.
