The Tennessee Volunteers still don’t have an offensive coordinator, and unless they’re waiting for a specific person (perhaps in the NFL) to become available, they’re running out of options.

On Wednesday, though, an interesting name surfaced in connection with the job — former Alabama and current Atlanta Falcons OC Steve Sarkisian.

Longtime assistant coach and former Hawaii head coach Norm Chow told Dan Harralson of VolsWire that he thinks Sark would be a good fit for the Volunteers:

“If you have that part (off-field) squared away, you have a chance,” Chow said. “He is a bright guy and tutored by good people. Football wise he would fit.”

Sarkisian and Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt were both on Alabama’s staff a couple of years ago, so there’s a history there.

However, many Falcons fans would love to send Sark packing, so we’ll see if he ends up in Knoxville after the NFL regular season ends this coming weekend.
