The rumor mill season is in full effect, and now that it has been reported that Tennessee OC Tyson Helton is heading to Western Kentucky, the Vols are prominently involved in the rumors once again.

On Monday morning, it was reported that former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze was the frontrunner to land the vacant offensive coordinator spot in Knoxville.

However, according to college football insider Bruce Feldman, that is not the case. Feldman’s sources say Freeze is not in the mix at all for the job:

Based on how many twists and turns last year’s coaching search had in Knoxville, we’d expect nothing less from this OC search.

For now, though, nothing is certain, as the rumors continue to swirl surrounding the job on Jeremy Pruitt’s staff.
