Ohio State insider thinks former Buckeyes 4-star LB commit Kane Patterson will end up a Vol
Nashville LB Kane Patterson was the first Ohio State pledge to back off his commitment after Urban Meyer was officially suspended. Now one Buckeyes insider is predicting OSU’s loss will become Tennessee’s gain.
“Patterson is a really great kid, I know he’s not taken this decision lightly,” Jeremy Birmingham of Lettermen Row tweeted Saturday. “My gut tells me he’ll end up at Tennessee.”
A 4-star prospect, the 6-1, 225-pound Patterson is rated the No. 7 Tennessee product, No. 9 inside linebacker and No. 199 recruit overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite.

Sports betting in Tennessee officially launched on November 1, 2020, and many of the largest sportsbooks are live and operating in the volunteer state. Tennessee is only one of a handful of SEC football states with legalized sports betting.
If Patterson joined the Vols’ 2019 class, he would be UT’s fourth-highest rated commit by Composite score (0.9215). His primary recruiter is listed as defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer. Patterson is also showing strong interest in Alabama and Clemson. He has 29 total scholarship offers.

There’s no doubt Patterson’s decommitment is tied directly to the stuff happening in Columbus over the last month. At this point, I feel pretty confident in saying you shouldn’t expect any other players to follow suit.
