Tennessee online sports betting has arrived.

UPDATE: Now live.

After the state approved legal sports wagering in July of last year, the Tennessee Education Lottery and other lawmakers spent the better part of the ensuing 15 months methodically crafting the state’s rules prior to Sunday’s expected launch.

With the long-rumored November 1 launch date on Sunday, BetMGM confirmed a Tennessee rollout is imminent with its announcement Thursday that it will officially launch its operations on Sunday morning.

BetMGM, along with industry-leaders DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook (and the relatively unknown Tennessee Action 24/7) were each granted operating licenses last month. Though BetMGM is currently the only operator to formally announce its launch date, it is expected that both FanDuel and DraftKings will be ready to go when the state officially goes live, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

Tennessee Sports Betting Arriving Right on Time

The arrival of online sportsbooks in Tennessee seems to come at a fortuitous time, as it will occur during the hours leading into NFL Week 8 Sunday action.

Notably, the Tennessee Titans travel to Cincinnati to play the Bengals early Sunday afternoon, marking the first opportunity the state’s bettors can back (or best against) their local market football team.

Unlike other states in which legal sports betting is already live, those in Tennessee who are planning to wager on sports will have to do so exclusively online. That’s because the Tennessee Education Lottery and other prominent state lawmakers have no current plans to permit retail sportsbook or casino gaming.

What You Can Expect To See

With the expected launch of Tennessee sports betting just mere hours away, let’s take a look at the options prospective bettors will have at their disposal.

DraftKings Tennessee Sportsbook

DraftKings built its reputation nearly 10 years ago during the rise of daily fantasy gaming, but it has solidified its reputation as one of the top legal sportsbook operators since the United State’s overturned PASPA back in 2018.

The formula for DraftKings Sportsbook has been a simple one—offer a ton of betting markets, build those markets into a sleek and easy-to-use app, and support the product with a variety of daily odds boosts and creative betting specials for both new and current users.

FanDuel Tennessee Sportsbook

FanDuel arguably possesses the best overall app experience in terms of functionality and ease of use, while also offering a wide-range of sports betting markets and daily bet boosts. FanDuel fortifies its app with betting specials, including money-back insurance and same-game parlays.

BetMGM Tennessee

BetMGM announced on Thursday morning that it will be live in lockstep with the official rollout of Tennessee’s sports betting platform.

BetMGM brings to Tennessee one of the most reputable and prestigious names in the betting industry. They’ve recently revamped their mobile betting app to make it more competitive with the mobile-first operators like DraftKings and FanDuel. They will likely debut a similar version of the app in Tennessee.
