It’s official, as expected, Quavaris Crouch will not be returning to Tennessee.

Instead, Crouch will continue to play in a defensive system that is familiar to him as the former Vol linebacker has committed to play for Mel Tucker’s Michigan State program.

Like Jeremy Pruitt, Tucker previously worked under Nick Saban before he named defensive coordinator at Georgia under Kirby Smart.

During his two seasons in Knoxville, Crouch racked up 85 tackles, half a sack, defended three passes and forced one fumble. He came to Tennessee after being a high school running back but made the transition to defense to prolong his playing career with an eye towards the NFL.

Crouch was rated as the No. 1 overall prospect from North Carolina in the 2019 recruiting cycle and the nation’s No. 3 overall athlete prospect.
