Rapid Reaction: Tennessee gets payback against Kentucky, dominates Wildcats in Knoxville

On Feb. 16, the then-No. 1 Tennessee Volunteers went into Rupp Arena and were smacked by the Kentucky Wildcats, losing 86-69. On Saturday, the Vols were hungry for revenge when the Wildcats paid a visit to Knoxville.

The win keeps the Vols atop the SEC regular-season standings, along with LSU. Meanwhile, Kentucky is now a game back in the race for the title.
The Vols kept the Wildcats off their rhythm, as evidenced by star Kentucky big man PJ Washington finishing with only 13 points and three rebounds. Meanwhile, Tennessee point guard Jordan Bone had a huge game, scoring a game-high 27 points to go with three assists. Grant Williams also played well, finishing with 24 points and seven boards.

The Vols are 26-3 overall, with a 14-2 record in SEC play. The Wildcats fall to 24-5 overall, with a 13-3 mark in conference action. The two teams may end up meeting again in the SEC Tournament, with the chance to settle the season series once and for all on a neutral court.
For now, though, two games remain in the regular season for each squad.
