Report: Butch Jones' future won't be impacted by Southern Miss game

Sports betting in Tennessee officially launched on November 1, 2020, and many of the largest sportsbooks are live and operating in the volunteer state. Tennessee is only one of a handful of SEC football states with legalized sports betting.
Brice dropped a bombshell on Saturday that Tennessee head coach Butch Jones’ fate will not be impacted by the Vols’ game against Southern Miss, which is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday on the SEC Network.
There will certainly be a lot of disgruntled UT fans with that news breaking. Tennessee is 3-5 on the season, with all of those losses coming against the SEC. The Vols have lost four in a row.
The tweet from Brice also acknowledged that defensive lineman Jonathan Kongbo will not play against Southern Miss:
Per folks in the @Vol_Football program, @Kongbo_1 will not play tonight due to suspension. Fate of @UTCoachJones no impact by this game.
