Here’s how Tennessee graded in its Week 6 loss to Florida.

OFFENSE: F

It all starts with the offensive line and Tennessee’s is abysmal. The o-line did no favors for Justin Worley in his three turnover performance on Saturday. The quarterback spent another weekend either on the ground or running for his life. Tennessee’s running game saw little success as well with Jalen Hurd limited to just 10 carries following an injury.

DEFENSE: A

Tennessee’s defense would have been the catalyst for snapping a nine-year drought. The front seven was spectacular at stopping a run-heavy offense and quarterback Jeff Driskel threw three interceptions. It’s a shame that such a stellar performance was wiped away by an inept offensive performance.

SPECIAL TEAMS: A

Aaron Medley has become a reliable option at kicker. After missing an attempt in each of his first two games, Medley has been perfect, going 3-for-3 in Saturday’s loss. Matt Darr punted well on Saturday, including a 61-yard attempt in the third quarter. Tennessee’s special teams coverage was also solid in stopping Andre Debose from breaking a big run, excluding a touchdown that was called back because of a penalty.

COACHING: D

Mike Bajakian’s play calling was suspect. With a 9-0 lead, Tennessee played ultra conservative, as if Florida was incapable of making the adjustments needed to put points on the board. Instead, the Gators scored 10 unanswered, while the Vols struggled to put together a successful drive in the fourth quarter. Justin Worley is the best option at quarterback, but doesn’t make sense in a read option offense.

OVERALL: D

The tricky thing is, Tennessee played an excellent game on defense and special teams. However, the offense was so bad that it outweighed every positive aspect of the game. This should have been a win for Tennessee and the ineptitude of the offense was the greatest factor.
