The Cincinnati Reds are off to a slow start this season, finding themselves in last place in the NL Central with a record of 12-17 entering May.
However, entering this weekend’s series against the San Francisco Giants, there’s optimism in the Reds’ organization, and it has to do with a top prospect.
Per reports on Wednesday, top prospect (and former Tennessee star) Nick Senzel is set to be called up to the big leagues for the weekend series:
The Cincinnati #Reds have told Nick Senzel that he's being called up to the Major Leagues.

Expect to see top #Reds prospect Nick Senzel in Cincinnati at the start of the next homestand on Friday. No. 5 overall prospect came back from ankle sprain a week ago. https://t.co/lq9gJqZAd6

Senzel played for the Vols from 2014 to 2016, hitting .352 with eight home runs, 59 RBI and 25 stolen bases as a junior in 2016.
How will he fare with the Reds? We’re about to get our first look of the former Vol in the big leagues.
