Tennessee has snagged Alabama’s compliance director.

On Thursday,¬†GoVols247’s John Brice reported that the Volunteers have hired Jonathan Bowling, the Crimson Tide’s compliance director and associate athletics director. Bowling would replace Matthew Hibbs, who¬†joined Ohio State as an assistant athletic director of compliance in June.

Clearly, this is an important role. In July, Alabama self-reported 19 secondary NCAA violations involving 11 sports for the 2015-16 calendar year, as outline by the school.

Bowling is well-aware of the SEC landscape, so acclimating to his new role shouldn’t be too difficult.
