Tennessee has snagged Alabama’s compliance director.

On Thursday, GoVols247’s John Brice reported that the Volunteers have hired Jonathan Bowling, the Crimson Tide’s compliance director and associate athletics director. Bowling would replace Matthew Hibbs, who joined Ohio State as an assistant athletic director of compliance in June.

Clearly, this is an important role. In July, Alabama self-reported 19 secondary NCAA violations involving 11 sports for the 2015-16 calendar year, as outline by the school.

Bowling is well-aware of the SEC landscape, so acclimating to his new role shouldn’t be too difficult.
