By now you’ve likely seen the call that cost Tennessee its opening-round game against Alabama in the 2021 SEC Baseball Tournament.

If you missed it, the Vols appeared to have won the game in the ninth inning but the game-winning run didn’t count after the umpire called interference on Tennessee.

Tennessee went on to lose the game in extra innings.

Many non-Tennessee fans have chimed in and said the right call was made there.

Following the game, Tennessee coach Tony Vitello was asked to share what he was told about the play. The umpire told Vitello, the Volunteer base runner, “ hit him in the nuts.”

After in the evening, a similar play unfolded during the Ole Miss-Vanderbilt game.
