Considering the lack of experience Tennessee had returning at cornerback last offseason, landing a graduate transfer commitment from former Louisville DB Shaq Wiggins appeared to be a coup for the Vols. While the move was celebrated in Knoxville at the time, it turned out to be a major disappointment for everyone involved.

Wiggins never saw much action of significance for Tennessee and he had to go through one of the more difficult seasons in program history — on and off the field.

While he likely hoped his season on Rocky Top would propel him into becoming a top NFL prospect, the opposite happened and his stock appears to have decreased since he arrived in Knoxville. So much so, that he wasn’t extended an offer to compete at the NFL Combine.

With the most recent combine just finishing up, Wiggins offered up these comments after missing out on the event, while still hoping to leave one last positive impression on NFL scouts during Tennessee’s upcoming Pro Day on Monday, March 19 at the Anderson Training Center.
