Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee coaching staff looked very different on Sunday.

If you missed the recent game of musical chairs on Rocky Top, defensive line coach Tracy Rocker and outside linebackers coach Chris Rumph have left Tennessee — Rocker left for South Carolina while Rumph left for the Houston Texans.

Tennessee fans eager to jump into a long search for their replacements will be disappointed, however, as both positions look to have been filled already.

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic was the first to report that Tennessee planned to hire Colorado defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh following Rocker’s move and now Feldman is back, along with David Ubben of The Athletic, to report that former Volunteer assistant Shelton Felton is returning to Knoxville.

Tennessee fans may be familiar with Felton, as he previously served as a defensive analyst on Pruitt’s first Tennessee coaching staff. Felton served as outside linebackers and defensive ends at Akron last season.

Before being hired at Tennessee, Felton was on staff at Chattanooga as outside linebackers coach. Felton has experience coaching at the high school level, too, which is something Pruitt likes in his assistants, as he served as head coach of Crisp County High School in Cordele, Ga.

With Felton returning to Knoxville, Tennessee is back to 10 full-time assistant coaches.
