Jamarcus Chatman has decommitted from Tennessee.
The class of 2018 prospect announced his decision on Twitter Monday night.
“I would like to take the time to thank the University of Tennessee for giving me an opportunity,” Chatman said. “… At this time, I’ve decided to decommit from the University of Tennessee and open up my recruitment.”
Chatman, a 3-star defensive tackle out of Rome, Ga., had been committed to the Volunteers since June 25. He made several unofficial visits to UT over the past few months.
The 6-foot-2, 258-pounder has several other impressive offers from schools such as Miami, LSU and Penn State.
Chatman is rated as the nation’s No. 29 defensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite.
Tennessee’s current recruiting class is loaded with defensive tackles from the state of Tennessee.
