Tennessee is still working to wrap up the 2022 recruiting class, and the Volunteers picked up another defensive lineman Saturday evening.

This time, the commitment came from Jayson Jenkins, a 6-foot-6 and 260 lbs. DL out of Trenton, New Jersey. According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Jenkins is a 3-star prospect and the No. 33 player out of New Jersey for the cycle.

Jenkins becomes the third DL prospect committed to Tennessee for 2022. He joins 4-star DL Tyre West and 3-star DL Jordan Phillips via the class of 2022. Tennessee is losing senior DL Matthew Butler among others following 2021.

As things currently stand, Tennessee’s recruiting class is ranked 15th nationally by the composite rankings. Josh Heupel’s Vols still have a few days to make a final push before National Signing Day on Wednesday.
