Tennessee added to its 2017 recruiting class on Monday when an in-state linebacker announced he’d join the team as a preferred walk-on.

TJ Minnifee, a Lebanon native, committed to the Volunteers via Twitter:

Minnifee, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound outside linebacker, is a two-star prospect.

According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 144 outside linebacker in the class of 2017 and the No. 62 overall recruit from the state of Tennessee.

Minnifee had scholarship offers from South Carolina, Miami (Ohio) and Jackson State, among others.
