Tennessee’s offense continues its assault on the Volunteers record books.

During Thursday’s Music City Bowl, wide receiver Cedric Tillman broke a Vols record with his 7th straight game with a receiving touchdown. Later in the first half, Tennessee broke a single-season program record for scoring.

How’s that for Heupel’s first season?

As of now, the Volunteers have scored 487 points this season. The previous scoring record was set in 1993 with 484 points. That was Phillip Fulmer’s first season as the Vols head coach.

Quarterback Hendon Hooker has thrown for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns so far in the Music City Bowl. Tillman has recorded 2 catches for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Tennessee leads Purdue 21-10 with 14:01 left in the second quarter.
