Tennessee has dismissed a pair of players following domestic assault charges. Neither player played in a Tennessee game this season.

Linebacker William Mohan was arrested Aug. 23 in South Knoxville and suspended indefinitely. Team spokesman Bill Martin said Friday that Mohan was dismissed from the team Sept. 5, Knox News reported. Offensive lineman Savion Herring was arrested on a charge of domestic assault this week and dismissed from the team.

Mohan, a Michigan transfer, played in 12 games last season for the Vols, mostly on special teams. Herring, a junior college transfer, joined the Vols this summer and participated in preseason practice. Mohan, a New York native, played one season for the Wolverines after signing with Jim Harbaugh’s program during the 2020 recruiting cycle. He has one career tackle and has appeared in one game.

Herring, who is listed at 6-foot-4 1/2 and 325 pounds chose Tennessee over Kansas, Syracuse, USF and Middle Tennessee.
