Tennessee wide receiver Pig Howard, who has been limited this season due to injury, has been dismissed from the program coach Butch Jones announced Wednesday.

Official word is due to a “violation of team rules.”

The Orlando, Florida native caught one pass for 12 yards this season.

He’s fought through off-the-field issues throughout his career in Knoxville. He took a leave of absence from the team prior to the 2014 season to deal with “personal circumstances” and returned for fall camp.

As a sophomore in 2013, he led the Vols with three touchdown receptions.
