2017 was forgettable on so many levels for Tennessee.

The Vols finished 4-8 and suffered the worst home loss in 112 years against Georgia. Butch Jones ended up getting fired. Honestly, there weren’t many positives in Knoxville last season.

DL Shy Tuttle really hasn’t been healthy since he arrived at Tennessee either. He’s suffered multiple injuries to his lower body, and he wasn’t even 100 percent during last year’s disaster. So, naturally, Tuttle’s career has been somewhat disappointing thus far, certainly by his standards.

And on Sunday, Tuttle had the perfect word describe the 2017 nightmare:

Entering 2018, Tuttle will assume a big leadership role for a team that needs leaders and difference-makers. Hopefully, he’ll have a healthy season.
