A Tennessee fan has reached a low point, and he blames much of his rough Saturday on the Vols’ performance against Kentucky.

A post-game caller to the Knoxville-based Tony Basilio Show reported that he was so frustrated by the Vols that he snapped.

“I did something today that I’ve never done,” he said on the radio. “I messed up, threw a beer bottle through my window and my wife left me.”

He was asked if he really did throw the beer bottle through a glass window.

“Yeah, and I don’t even drink, I had two beers,” the caller said. “I wasn’t even drunk, I just, I can’t stand to watch this team anymore. I can’t do it. My blood pressure’s up, and I’m cool and I’m calm, I don’t get this way.”

He confirmed that it came after Jarrett Guarantano’s second interception in the 34-7 loss to Kentucky, which won in Knoxville for the first time since 1984.

The caller apologized to his wife and said, “Honey, Tennessee football’s done that, I didn’t do it. … Blame it on JG. I can’t watch this team anymore. I can’t watch them next week, I can’t watch them the rest of the season. I can’t watch them anymore. I have to pick a new team.”
