Tennessee fans express confidence heading into Week 7 home game vs. No. 1 Alabama
Tennessee and Alabama will enter their annual rivalry game as 2 of the top teams in the nation. If Alabama beats Texas A&M on Saturday night, both squads will enter the matchup undefeated for the first time since 1989.
Needless to say, optimism on Rocky Top is at a level not seen in recent decades. Yes, Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country, but Vol fans actually have hope entering next week’s game.
As you can see below, plenty of Vol fans are expressing confidence on social media ahead of the rivalry game:
If you thought that Florida crowd was wild, Neyland’s foundation might crack when the Vols face Bama next week.

Tennessee is a College Football Playoff Contender. They can beat Bama AND Georgia. It’s time for everyone to accept it. Vols are back.

Everyone knows the committee is worried next week that their cash cow @AlabamaFTBL is in trouble next week. They “need” Bama and OSU in the playoffs. @Vol_Football is looking to ruin that!!! #Vols #GBO #RockyTop

If Alabama beats Texas A&M tonight, Tide-Vols will feature two unbeaten teams for the first time since 1989. Knoxville will be electric. If Vols pull off the upset, the city may burn down. Biggest game in Knoxville since 1998.

How long has it been? With its 40-13 rout of LSU, @Vol_Football moves to 5-0 and heads into the Alabama game unbeaten for the first time since the 1998 national championship season when the Vols finished 13-0.

I’m ready to discuss beating Alabama.
If we win next week you gotta rank the Vols #1. Idgaf what UGA or Ohio State do.

Vols needed that.
A convincing win on the road before we face our biggest yearly hurdle.
We might still end 5-1 next week. But I do expect us to give them the best run we’ve had in a long time.
We might even actually beat Alabama. https://t.co/2zfvlPqO3T

It should be an absolutely electric atmosphere at Neyland Stadium next weekend. We’ll see if the Vols can keep their special season going!
