Tennessee fans said the same thing about Vols QB position after routing Mizzou
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Tennessee absolutely embarrassed Mizzou in Columbia on Saturday afternoon, obliterating the Tigers by a final score of 62-24.
It was a long day for the Missouri defense, which has been one of the worst in the country thus far in 2021.
But, also give credit to the Tennessee offense for making it hard on the Tigers. Yes, the Vols ran for an incredible 452 yards, but the passing game worked, too.
In addition to running 14 times for 74 yards and a touchdown, QB Hendon Hooker completed 15-of-19 passes for 225 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
That had fans talking after the game. In fact, Vol fans seem to be in agreement that Hooker should be QB1 moving forward:
I think Milton is significantly better than he’s played so far for the Vols, but this is Hendon’s team now. Would take something pretty drastic to change that right now. It’s too bad for Milton how his season started, but props to Hooker for running with the opportunity. https://t.co/vQnoIVDABu

Hendon Hooker has to be the undisputed starting QB moving forward, right? No more of this “Milton is still a little banged up so we’ll see” nonsense.

Hendon Hooker is and has been our best option. What a day.

We ride with Hendon Hooker. The Vols finally have an undisputed starting quarterback.

Hendon Hooker should start the rest of the season, period.

Barring injury, if anyone other than Hendon Hooker rolls out there next weekend, we riot. The QB battle/controversy should be completely over. https://t.co/F8zp44f3Dd

We’ll se what Josh Heupel says about the QB situation moving forward.
