Tennessee is working hard on securing a top-10 recruiting class for the 2025 cycle. On Sunday, Josh Heupel’s staff pulled off a key flip that will help solidify the group.

The player is Da’Saahn Brame, a 4-star tight end out of Derby High School in Kansas. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 235 pounds, Brame was originally committed to Dan Lanning’s Oregon program in June. Now, he’s on the way to Knoxville with his commitment to the Vols.

During the 2023 season, Brame recorded 46 catches for 942 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior. Brame comes from an athletic lineage with his father, Da’Von Brame, playing for Kansas State as a linebacker in the late 90s-early 00s. His mother, Nicky Ramage-Brame, played women’s basketball for Kansas State during the same time period.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Brame is the No. 5 TE in the country and the 112th overall prospect for the class of 2025. The system also rates Brame as the No. 4 player out of the state of Kansas.

Impact for Tennessee

With Brame’s commitment, Tennessee is now up to 20 hard commitments for the cycle. That group contains 12 commitments with a 4-star composite rating as one of the top groups in the country.

The 247 Sports Team Composite currently has the Vols with the No. 5 recruiting class in the country, a group that ranks 4th in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia and LSU. The Vols currently have the best recruiting class in the country for any team without a 5-star player currently committed.
