Tennessee freshman linebacker Quavaris Crouch makes his pitch to recruits: 'It takes time to build stuff'
Tennessee football is off to a rough start in 2019. The Volunteers are 1-3 and still have Georgia and Alabama coming up on the schedule. The way they’ve played, the Volunteers aren’t guaranteed a win in the SEC.
But freshman linebacker Quavaris Crouch tried to quiet the critics Wednesday afternoon, sending out his best pitch to recruits:
“It takes time to build stuff,” Crouch said.
“Everything takes time and as long as you keep on working with a good mindset and a good attitude, then I think success will come along the way.”

The Volunteers started slowly last year too, going 3-5 at the beginning of the season and suffered embarrassing losses to Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
But Tennessee did beat Auburn and won two of its last four games to finish 5-7 in 2018. With three home games in the final five weeks of this season, another strong finish isn’t out of the question.
While Crouch is right, his pitch will resonate more if Tennessee is able to rally and somehow make a bowl game this December.
