Tennessee football added its 9th commitment of the 2024 class Sunday, earning a pledge from high 3-star safety Edrees Farooq out of Baltimore, Maryland.

Farooq, the No. 561 overall prospect in the Class of 2024, picked the Vols over offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland, Colorado, Oregon and Arkansas, among many others.

He made his announcement Sunday afternoon via Twitter:

Farooq, on top of being the No. 561 overall recruit, is considered to be the No. 47 safety in the class and the No. 17 player out of Maryland, per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Tennessee is putting together quite the 2024 class, one the Vols have been working on since earning a commitment from 4/5-star edge Jonathan Echols back in mid-2022.

Currently ranked the No. 10 overall class in the country, the Vols hold commitments from 4 top-150 prospects: Echols, QB Jake Merklinger, WR JJ Harrell and CB Kaleb Beasley. Farooq is the 6th highest rated prospect committed to the class.
