Tennessee melting down following 41-0 loss to Georgia, anger directed at Butch Jones

Tennessee had several reasons to be up for Saturday’s game against #7 Georgia. The stadium was checkerboarded by the fans. The team broke out the popular Smokey Grey uniforms. Peyton Manning was honored at halftime following his selection into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Then, Volunteer quarterback Quinten Dormady threw an interception on the first play of the game.

That one play pretty much summed up the afternoon on Rocky Top, as Tennessee fell 41-0 to the Bulldogs.

The defense did all that it could to keep the game close but the offense never got going against Georgia’s outstanding defense and Tennessee’s typically strong special teams unit had several lapses in the game.

Once the result of the game had well been decided, the reaction online was not kind to the Vols. To no surprise, Butch Jones caught the majority of the backlash:
