Tennessee officially announces transfer addition of former 5-star recruit
It’s official: Cade Mays is coming to Tennessee after all.
A former 5-star recruit who was once committed to the Vols, Mays is leaving Georgia for Tennessee. The Vols’ addition of the 6-foot-6, 318-pound offensive lineman was made official with an announcement on Thursday:

Mays was one of the top players in Tennessee’s 2018 recruiting class, before he opted to flip to Georgia following the firing of former Vols head coach Butch Jones. Tennessee hired Jeremy Pruitt, and Mays decided to go play for the Bulldogs under Kirby Smart.
However, Georgia lost offensive line coach Sam Pittman this offseason, as he left to become the head coach at Arkansas. So now, Mays is leaving to join the Vols, who signed his younger brother, Cooper, as part of their 2020 recruiting class.
Mays played in all 14 of Georgia’s games in 2019, making 11 starts. He saw time at every position on the offensive line, which included playing six games at right guard, two at right tackle, two at left guard and one at left tackle.
The addition of Mays will certainly be a boost to Tennessee’s offensive line in the future.
Shocking.
Well, not for Cade Mays’s mother, according to her lawsuit. She’s not been shocked in over two years, poor thing.
Best thing I’ve read all week
Leave Mom alone please.
Decorum, Man! You’re on SDS!
She shouldn’t have filed a publicly viewable, baseless lawsuit for “loss of consortium,” aka “no more shocker,” to tack onto her husband’s equally baseless lawsuit, all of which are designed in the cheapest, most disgusting ploy possible to have their son not have to sit a year.
Maybe they shouldn’t have listened to the detestable Fat Phil who helped organize this entire sham. Now we all know just how much Mrs. Mays misses that particular digit.
How embarrassing that must be for Cade.
I can assure you that Fulmer had nothing to do with these silly lawsuits. He has much better things to do. Seems to me that this sort of thing is “family” instigated for $. Along with some parasite lawyers. And that’s my opinion as a lawyer myself.
Blaming this on Phil? Let me guess…you blame all of the world’s problems on the Obamas right?
Are you mad bro? lol
If Cade wants to go home to Tennessee I support that. If he wants to go play for the Vols with his brother and continue the family legacy there I get that . He was a DGD and I support him and hope he makes it to the NFL if that’s his dream but the lawsuit, while I understand why, it’s so trashy. UGA was your home and we loved every second you played but this ends it on such bad circumstances… SMH We all know if this actually mattered you wouldn’t have come to UGA. Nope this is that sleazy lawyer trying to circumvent the rules again and your whole family is going along with it. Sad day but regardless good luck Cade we really did love watching you play ball…
As a Vol fan, and a lawyer, I think the lawsuit was, and is, BS.
I think we just need to put all of this finger talk on ice.
Try to cope with your descent.
He wants to come home and play with his brother, it is probably that simple. After seeing what Pruitt is building, I get it.
