Tennessee QB Brian Maurer cracks joke on Twitter about Vols' recent recruiting success
No one has been hotter on the recruiting trails recently that the Tennessee Volunteers. They now have 21 players in their class, including 2 5-star commits and 7 4-star commits.
Per 247Sports, that class ranks No. 2 in the nation (behind only Ohio State) and No. 1 in the SEC.
On Wednesday, Tennessee QB Brian Maurer took to Twitter to make a joke about the Vols’ recruiting success. As you can see below, he tweeted a joke along with the viral video of a herd of goats that got loose recently:
Looks like our ‘21 class got loose https://t.co/yvfuW8TWXk

Maurer’s not wrong — players have been lining up to get into Tennessee’s 2021 class lately.
Though that class is now almost full, there are still a few spots open for coach Jeremy Pruitt and the Vols to add some more talent to the mix.
Where’s everbody at??? I was gonna be nice and wait on some UT guys! I’m bummed out.
Go play in the street!!
Wow c’mon Adam this is the best you could write about? Haven’t SDS published like 15 articles related to Tennessee recruiting in the last 3 days? With all due respect Tennessee has a great recruiting class but they will still lose to UF.
Maybe they will…maybe they won’t.
Seeing a bunch of dumb goats wandering the streets of California, I figured it was just liberals gathering to protest common sense.
Well come on pig, that’s obvious. I mean you can clearly see pelosi, shiner, the social squad and many others. There is one asleep in the middle of the pack. Can’t make it out clearly, must be Biden.
Geez shumer and the aoc squad
Pelosi is the goat eating ice cream. Biden is the one trying to mount another goat, then forgetting what he was doing and falling asleep. AOC is the vomiting goat, and Schiff is the goat eating poop.
Gosh…I guess we should automatically Award The Tennessee Volunteers the 2021 National Championship. But..got to keep ’em in the fold, Get ’em signed &
on-campus, meshed into the Philosophy, and Coached-up.
So let’s wait a little while.
And it’s a TRIBE of goats in California. Normally a herd anywhere else.
9 4 and 5 stars, 12 3 stars or less. Burning it up!
Certainly it’s early, and many things can happen. A person’s word doesn’t mean much anymore, especially in the wild and wacky world of recruiting. Having said that, you can’t discount the start Coach Pruitt and his staff have done. After having the three stooges for the last three coaches, it is hopeful we have found the coach we need to make us successful. I believe we have, but until UT is again competing for SEC/National Championships, the jury will still be out. Even with this class if it hangs together, UT is still another year or more to have the roster UGA and Alabama have. No reason we can’t have that roster again, it just takes time.
Please God, let there be a football season.
There was more than 3 stooges, just three at a time.
Couldn’t resist. Look forward to seeing you guys in the fall. Stay healthy and bring your game. :)
Really, pinging UT on coaches? Stones and glass houses come to mind.
All in good fun, I hope the same. UT and Arkansas always seem to have very entertaining games. Good luck to you all this season except when the game comes around.
Other stooges included Mike Hamilton, Bama Dave Hart, John Currie, and Bev Davenport.
I did limit it to the coaches. Don’t even get me started on the ship of fools.
It’s a good story and a good sign for UT that they currently rank No.2 but if they want to finish much higher than around No.10 they still have some more work to do…
UT’s 2020 recruiting class finished with a 89.92 average, good for the No.10 class according to 247 recruiting.
UT’s 2021 class has a 89.73 per player average. Unless they cut some of their 3-star’s and upgrade with 4 or 5 stars they will likely finish somewhere between No.7-10.
@TimRupert
Finally someone with a modicum of foresight. Breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale thread. Good work sir, carry on
