Tennessee QB coach gave up seat on plane to a mom so she could get home
With all the recent turmoil in the airline industry, it’s nice to hear a positive flying story every now and then.
Thanks to Tennessee quarterbacks coach Mike Canales, we have one, as Canales gave up his seat on a flight (which was, of course, overbooked) so Meridith Hammond could get home to see her son’s baseball game.
This is very cool:
Thx @coachcanales for giving up your seat on the flight today. I'll make it home to see my son play baseball b/c you took one for the team.

Canales responded to Hammond, wishing her son good luck at his baseball game:
@merhammond Your Welconed Meridith, Wish Your Son Good Luck Today. Hit A Home Run! "My All For Tennessee!" #GBO #TheBag #QB's Work! Coach CANales

To make the story even better, Bryce came through for Canales, hitting what his mother said was his first-ever over-the-fence home run for his tournament-champion squad:
@coachcanales First ever over the fence home run for Bryce today and tournament champions! #youcalledthatone #wordsarepowerful #vfl pic.twitter.com/ACYkf443io

If they weren’t already Tennessee fans, it’s safe to say Meridith and Bryce are now Vols for life, thanks to the classy gesture from Canales.
