There were many firsts for Tennessee football in the win against Auburn. It was Jeremy Pruitt’s first SEC win as a head coach, Tennessee’s first conference win in 11 games, and it was also a career day for the Vols’ quarterback Jarrett Guarantano.

Guarantano was 21 for 32 passing with 328 yards, 2 touchdowns, and most importantly, no turnovers in the 30-24 win over Auburn. It was also Guarantano’s first win over a Power 5 team as the starting quarterback.

The signal-caller took to Twitter after the win, reaffirming his love for the Tennessee program.

The redshirt sophomore caught the tail-end of the Butch Jones era, and is bridging the gap between Jones and Pruitt. This was by far the best moment of his career, as he has spent most of it on the ground behind a questionable offensive line.

If Guarantano continues to play like he did in the win down on The Plains, he will continue to be a huge part of the foundation Jeremy Pruitt is laying at Tennessee.
