Tennessee reportedly loses former 4-star defender to NCAA transfer portal
Tennessee finished up its second scrimmage of the spring session on Saturday, but as the Vols move on, they’ll apparently do so without a former 4-star defender.
According to a report on Saturday afternoon, a cornerback has decided to explore his transfer options.
Per Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports, the player in question is Tyus Fields, who was part of the Vols’ 2019 class:
The former four-star recruit has not played in two seasons.

Per his Tennessee bio, Fields appeared in 4 games as a true freshman in 2019, recording 2 tackles. He appeared in 1 game in 2020, but didn’t record any stats. And, he didn’t appear in any games in 2021.
Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but it appears the former 4-star corner’s time on Rocky Top has come to an end.
Tennessee online sports betting officially launched on November 1, 2020, and many of the largest sportsbooks are live and operating in the volunteer state. Tennessee is only one of a handful of SEC football states with legalized sports betting.
