Will Tennessee’s injury nightmare ever end?

During his Monday news conference, Volunteers coach Butch Jones announced junior safety and return man Evan Berry will miss the rest of the year with a knee injury. Berry was injured in Tennessee’s 55-0 win over Tennessee Tech last Saturday.

True freshman Nigel Warrior (14 tackles, one tackle for loss) will likely fill in for Berry for the remainder of the year.

A first team All-American return specialist in 2015, Berry was second nationally with 32.9 yards per kickoff return this season. The junior had returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown at South Carolina just two weeks ago.

Berry has provided 12 tackles, one for loss, from his safety position. He’s now the newest of at least a dozen Vols defenders who have experienced a significant injury this season.
