Published:

Tennessee’s football program is under investigation by the NCAA for major infractions potentially committed during Jeremy Pruitt’s tenure in Knoxville.

Josh Heupel’s first year on Rocky Top appears to have gone a lot smoother, but the Vols did self-report one minor recruiting violation.

Per KnoxNews.com, the violation had to do with the pregame Vol Walk ahead of the Ole Miss game this past fall:

Tennessee football committed a minor NCAA violation when recruits walked along the pregame path of the Vol Walk before the Ole Miss game.

Tennessee basketball also self-reported a minor violation:

And UT basketball committed another violation because a recruit dribbled a ball on the Thompson-Boling Arena court during a photo shoot.

The football program’s violation is considered a Level III infraction, which are generally reported by universities every year and are considered very minor in scope.

The KnoxNews.com story, which you can find here, has more detail about the circumstances that led to the Vol Walk violation.
