Tennessee and Athletic Director Danny White are set to hire former Auburn AD Allen Green to a role as the Vols’ Senior Deputy AD.

Green served as Auburn’s AD from 2018-2022. He went to Ole Miss immediately following in the same role he was hired to Tennessee on Thursday.

Here’s what White had to say about the addition of Greene:

“One of the key objectives from our strategic plan “Rise Glorious” was to attract goal-driven and intensely competitive teammates to strengthen our family-oriented, innovative and fearless culture and Allen is a tremendous addition to our leadership team,” White said in a release Thursday. “Allen’s one of the most dynamic and engaging leaders I’ve been fortunate to work alongside, and I am thrilled to be able to add one of the stars of our profession and his wonderful family to Rocky Top.”

And here’s Greene’s statement from the same release referenced above:

“I’m very appreciative for this opportunity to once again be a teammate with Danny and join the talented executive team he has assembled at Tennessee,” Greene said. “The Tennessee brand is second to none and I am looking forward to help propel UT athletics in this modern era of our industry. My family and I can’t wait to get started on Rocky Top.”

Greene graduated from Notre Dame and played shortstop for the Fighting Irish baseball team and was drafted in the 9th round of the draft by the New York Yankees, according to the release. He earned his Master’s degree from Indiana soon after.

Prior to his stint at Auburn and 2nd stint at Ole Miss, Greene served as Buffalo’s AD from 2015-2018 and was Ole Miss’ assistant AD from 2009-2012.
