Tennessee F Grant Williams is the reigning SEC Player of the Year, and he’s likely to win it again this year if he keeps up his solid play.
However, not many are projecting him to be a big-time star in the NBA, so what gives? What makes him such a great college player?
When asked about it on Wednesday, he gave a simple answer. He knows he’s not the most athletically gifted player, so he just outworks everyone:
#Vols’ Grant Williams on the key to his success: "I’ve never been the most athletic. I’ve never been the tallest. I’ve never been the quickest. But it’s just about putting the time in the gym. You can always work hard if you want to work hard. That’s a choice." pic.twitter.com/Qsrm3BDGxd

Whatever Williams is doing, it’s working, as he’s averaging an SEC-best 20.4 points to go with 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.3 steals per game.
The Tennessee Volunteers are 19-1 and undefeated in SEC play with Williams leading the way. Whatever happens the rest of the year, Williams will be working hard to keep the Vols at No. 1.
