Tennessee football will once again Checker Neyland stadium next Saturday when the Vols take on Texas A&M. The Vols are currently on bye week and face off against the Aggies in Week 7.

The Vols advertised Thursday the campaign to bring back the recent tradition of checkering the stadium orange and white as they did during last season’s win over Florida. And it’s a sight to behold in one of the nation’s top venues.

Here’s the look from last season’s matchup against Florida.

The Vols are 2-4 all-time when checkering Neyland, a tradition that dates back to 2014 against Florida. Tennessee is just 2-4 in checker games, partly because it’s almost always chosen against either a ranked or rivalry opponent such as Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida.

Texas A&M is not currently ranked but has a chance to pull off a massive upset at Kyle Field this Saturday against No. 11 Alabama.

Perhaps the most interesting part about the checker Neyland initiative is that it is entirely fan-driven. The Vols’ social accounts simply give the “green light” with links to a 3rd-party website where fans can find which color shirt to wear by entering their seat information.

The Vols and Aggies kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS from Knoxville in what should be a strong measuring stick for a Tennessee team that had an up and down September.
