Tennessee football is the latest victim of a weather delay.

With several games being delayed throughout the day, Tennessee’s Week 2 matchup and home-opener against Austin Peay has been delayed due to lightning in the area.

The game was initially supposed to kickoff at 5 p.m. ET, but the new kickoff time will be  5:17 barring anymore delays. Fans inside the stadium do not have to leave the stadium, but fans outside the gate are encouraged to shelter in nearby facilities.

The Vols are looking to carry the momentum from a dominant 49-13 win over Virginia last week into the game against Austin Peay.

While the Govs likely won’t cause any problems, the game will be a good opportunity to get quarterback Joe Milton more reps as well as give fans another look at quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who saw a few snaps last week against Virginia.

A big win would give Tennessee some much needed confidence before the Vols head to the Swamp next week to take on Florida.
