Cedric Tillman has had a breakout season for Tennessee, and it isn’t over yet. The redshirt junior wide receiver will look to help lead the Vols to victory against Purdue in the Music City Bowl.

Even then, Tillman’s time at Tennessee isn’t going to be complete.

On Thursday, Tillman announced on Twitter that he is planning to return to the Vols for the 2022 season. That’s a big boost for Tennessee’s offense, as Tillman is its leading receiver this season.

Through 11 games, Tillman has 57 catches for 931 yards and 9 touchdowns. Before 2021, he had only 8 catches for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns in 6 games over his first 3 seasons with the Vols.

Tillman was a 3-star recruit out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas when he became part of Tennessee’s 2018 class.

It’s possible that Tillman would have been selected during the 2022 NFL Draft, if he had decided not to come back to school and to start his professional career. Instead, he’ll have another season to try to further boost his stock before leaving for the NFL.

Tillman and the Vols are set to face Purdue in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN.
