Jalin Hyatt has emerged as a growing offensive threat for Tennessee as the freshman wide receiver burst on the scene with a big game against Alabama.

Hyatt made two catches for a career-high 86 receiving yards and caught his first-career TD on a 38-yard reception against Alabama last month. His first-career catches came in a win over Missouri when he had two receptions for 54 yards.

Hyatt will be a key player for whomever is the Tennessee quarterback going forward, but he knows he’s already developed a relationship with Harrison Bailey.

“Harrison Bailey came in with my recruiting class, very proud of him, he’s like a close brother to me,” Hyatt said. “He’s going to have success in the future and I can’t wait to play with him. It’s going to be fun.”

Hyatt and Bailey worked out together in March to develop some chemistry throwing the ball. Hyatt said he drove to the Atlanta area, where Bailey is from, to work on that.

“I stayed up there for three or four days to just get the flow with him,” Hyatt said. “When I went up and there and after I left, I knew he was going to be something special. I’m ready to see what he has in the future.
