Tennessee’s drop in top 25, out of CFP bracket draws strong reaction on social media

Tennessee’s College Football Playoff outlook is uncertain with the new CFP committee top 25.
The Volunteers dropped to No. 11 in the rankings after falling to Georgia. With the top 5 conference champions receiving Playoff bids, Tennessee would be the first team out if these rankings were being used to determine the 12-team field.
This is the same position Georgia was in a week ago. By beating Tennessee, the Bulldogs have moved up to No. 10 overall, and the potential 11-seed.
There are still 2 more weeks of the regular season plus conference championship weekend games to shake up the rankings. Vol Nation, though, is understandably uncertain about whether Tennessee will be able to move up. Josh Heupel’s team faces UTEP in Week 13 before closing out against in-state rival Vanderbilt.
For many Vols, it’s particularly frustrating to be looking up at Alabama, considering the results of the Third Saturday in October. Here’s a small sample of what’s being said on social media after the rankings reveal:
Tennessee is out and Boise State gets a bye in these rankings lmao. Tennessee would smoke Boise.

Georgia moves up 2 spots to 10 after beating Tennessee. Alabama moves up 3 spots to 7 after beating Mercer
Tennessee, who beat Alabama, is ranked 11th
This committee listened to the most in-season criticism ever this past week, and somehow dropped rankings that… I don’t know?

11 isn’t the worst place to be, anybody in front of Tennessee loses, and you are in. No one directly behind you is a threat to jump into the top 10 without claiming an automatic bid.

It’s a real shame Tennessee couldn’t play Alabama to see who the better team is and who should and shouldn’t be in the playoffs…

So… Georgia is above ole miss because of head to head even though Georgia has a much tougher strength of schedule…. BUT Alabama is above Tennessee disregarding head to head because Alabama has a tougher strength of schedule… what’s the point of playing the games?
