No. 1 vs. No. 2 this weekend from the AP Top 25 could be an instant classic. No. 2 Tennessee at No. 1 Georgia is going to be the most anticipated game on the college football slate this weekend. Both teams are undefeated through 8 games and tied atop the SEC East standings.

ESPN’s Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon evaluated the critical clash during Tuesday’s edition of “Pardon The Interruption:”

The duo debated which team needs the win more. Kornheiser believes it’s more important for Georgia because Tennessee has the victory vs. Alabama on its resume.

“Georgia if they lose this game, they can’t get to the SEC championship, so they can’t redeem their one loss,” Kornheiser said.

Meanwhile, Wilbon refused to give an answer because he “refused the construct,” claiming the contest is “equally” important for both teams.

Georgia most recently defeated rival Florida 42-20. Georgia produced 555 total yards to offset its 3 turnovers.

Tennessee handled Kentucky 44-6 last Saturday. Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker went 19-for-25 for 245 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions as he proves to be a viable Heisman candidate.

Georgia leads the all-time series 26-23-2 vs. Tennessee, with 5 consecutive victories in the matchup. Tennessee-Georgia is slated for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on CBS.
