Although the Tennessee Volunteers are 4-4 and have lost 2 straight, fans and coaches alike have seen the strides made by Vols head coach Josh Heupel.

The Vols only lost to Ole Miss by 5 a couple weeks ago and gave Alabama a game Saturday night until the fourth quarter.

One coach in the athletic department who has been impressed by Heupel is Vols baseball coach Tony Vitello.

Vitello, who led the Vols to a 50-18 record this past season and to the College World Series, had this to say about Heupel via WATE-TV:

“They (the team) are always ready to play, yeah they didn’t finish this game or that game,” he said. “It’s a very positive environment. The kids are behind him and eventually the kids are going to have to make the plays.”

The Vols’ next game will be in 2 weeks against No. 12 Kentucky.
