The Tennessee Volunteers have fallen on hard times as a program after starting the season 2-0.

Now, those hard times have had an impact on the recruiting trail, as Tennessee’s top-rated recruit decommitted from the program on Monday evening.

As you can see below, 5-star 2021 LB Terrence Lewis — the top-rated player in Tennessee’s class — announced he was reopening his recruitment:

The good news for the Vols is that he said they’re still his top school. We’ll see where he ends up next.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Lewis is the No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2021 class and the No. 5 overall recruit from the state of Florida.

The Vols now have 25 players in their 2021 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 13 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
