Trevon Flowers, a veteran Tennessee defensive back who made a career-best 79 tackles this season, has announced that he will return to the Vols next season for a fifth year on Rocky Top.

Flowers wrote in an announcement that the Vols changed the culture at Tennessee even though the finish didn’t go the way they wanted.

“I feel I have much more to show in orange and white,” he wrote on social media. “I’ve decided to return for the 2022 season.”

His 79 tackles were tied for sixth among SEC defensive backs. His best game may have come against Florida when Flowers led team with a career-high 15 tackles, which was the most by a UT player since LB Daniel Bituli had 19 against Kentucky in 2019.
